The Las Positas College Early Music Concert Series presents quality professional musicians in historically informed performances for music lovers who appreciate music performed in an intimate environment so they can experience beautiful music and meet the performers.

The Early Music Concert Series provides historically informed performances for members of the college community who want to attend live performance so they can experience the difference between recorded music and live performance.

Artistic Director

Marilyn Marquis is the Artistic Director of the Las Positas College Early Music Concert Series. She is also a faculty member at the College. With the support of the LPC Foundation and the generous support of Dr Philip Manwell, Ms Marquis established this concert series in honor of Dr Linda Lucas.

Marilyn Marquis began her involvement with Early Music in 1982 when she enrolled in a recorder class with Betty Zuehlke in Manhattan Beach. She later joined the La Mer Consort directed by Betty Zuehlke. She has been an active member of the American Recorder Society, serving as vice-president and later as president of the East Bay chapter. Marilyn has served on the Board of the Bay Area Recorder Series, a series dedicated to providing concert performed by international known recorder players, and on the Board of Healing Muses, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing healing music for chronically ill patients in hospitals.

Ms Marquis is a member of the San Francisco Early Music Society, The American Recorder Society, and of Early Music America.
